This hydrogen-burning afterburner furnace replaces the conventionally used LP gas with hydrogen, and as part of a carbon neutral initiative, Denso Corporation, Denso Fukushima Corporation, and Toyota Motor Corporation have jointly developed a system to produce green hydrogen at Denso's Fukushima Plant and to use the hydrogen produced at the plant. The equipment is to be used for the following purposes. [1][2][3]

Our hydrogen burner used in the afterburner furnace was jointly developed with Toyota Motor Corporation in 2018 and is the world's first general-purpose hydrogen combustion burner for industrial use. The unique burner structure suppresses NOx gas generation. [4]

Hydrogen is a fuel that does not emit carbon dioxide (CO₂) during combustion, and is therefore attracting attention as a decarbonized fuel suitable for the industrial furnace sector, which is estimated to account for about 17% of total CO₂ emissions in Japan.

We will continue to develop hydrogen-fueled combustion equipment and industrial furnaces to contribute to the coming decarbonized society.
